We have two adorable Balinese cats named Flotsam and Jetsam, both 8 month old girls. They are very affectionate and love our company but we are concerned about their habits.
Often, especially when I'm sitting at the computer, Flotsam will come and sit on my lap. This is ok but it's what comes next that's the problem. She curls up, starts to purr and begins slurping on her tail. This she does incessantly until she falls asleep with saturated tail in mouth. During all this, Jetsam shows up and starts slurping on the backs of Flotsam's ears until they are soaked through. Whilst slurping, both cats go into a kind of trance like state and purr voraciously. It's all quite obscene and noisy and makes it very hard to sleep at night. Can someone enlighten us on this bizzare behaviour and offer a remedy?
