Sometimes cats are simply hungry when they wake up in the morning, so they wake you up to get breakfast. If your Bengal isn't on any dietary restrictions and you're allowed to free feed, try putting extra dry food in his bowl at night. That way, when he wakes up in the morning, breakfast will be waiting for him and he won't feel the need to get you up to serve him. :)

Another idea is to schedule some really active playtime with him at night, about an hour before you go to bed. You can help him burn off extra energy by playing with a pole toy, e.g., have him chase the feather around the room. This may help him sleep a little longer in the morning.

Whatever you do, don't reinforce him in the morning. Don't give him a reward, be it food or attention, when he wakes you up at 5:30. Ignore him or put him in another room until you're ready to get up. THEN lavish him with cuddles and praise and breakfast!

Good luck!
