:I am considering getting leather couches for my living room... I've never had leather furniture and cats at the same time. I wondered if any of you have? I don't know if my kittens would just scratch them up. Am I just asking for trouble?

Personally, I do not care for leather furniture with cats. Even though they will not use them for scratching posts, their claws can puncture the leather. If you get it, I would think that you would need to put some sort of blanket over the back or maybe the seats --- where the kittens might jump up upon, so that their little claws won't poke into the furniture.
