Posted by Wendy on May 09, 2001 at 15:42:50: Hi! I have a 1 year old Birman female. She is very sweet and affectionate, but she bites. Ever since she was a little kitten she has tried to chew on our fingers. We have tried to discourage this by putting hot sauce, lime juice etc on our hands, but it hasn't helped. Lately she has started chewing on power cords, hair ties, plastic handles, everything. She has destroyed several sheets and blankets by chewing them to pieces. It's like having a puppy! We have tried changing her food (higher protein and fiber) and giving her kitty jerky but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions? PS- She was rescued by us when she was very tiny. (maybe 6 weeks old?) I figure this has something to do with the cause, I just need to know how to stop the effects! Thanks, Wendy
