i'm no expert on cats but i had two in a one bedroom apartment a few years ago and i did add the third one... alot of stuff got knocked over/broken because during a game of "chase", two ganged up on one and it was easier for the one being chased to go "up"... on furniture, tables, etc. they were nicknamed the three stooges for their antics. good luck.
