H E L P !!! I am desperate!
I rescued a bengal female (Thickett) who was still in milk. We had purchased a baby (Honey) from a breeder and was asked to take her 2 weeks early...we did. As soon as I took Honey our of her car kennel, Thickett immediately started licking and nursing her. They have been as close as could be every since.
We took the girls to the vet 10 days ago to be spayed. Here comes the nightmare! Thickett now hunts Honey down and attacks her for absolutely no reason. Poor little Honey (only 10 mos. old) gets so frightened durring these altercations that she wets herself. Honey won't be in the same room with Thickett unless she is in my lap.
Tonight, Thickett very gently came up to Honey (in my lap) as though she was going to lick her, and grabbed and bit her instead! Now, my husband is furious and wants to get rid of Thickett.
I have tried separating the girls and re-introducing them (several times) to no avail. I have tried "Feliway" but it does not seem to work. Thickett has been scolded, sprayed with water, paddled, put in her kennel, put outside, given extra attention, etc., etc. Nothing seems to be working. I am desperate! I love both my girls...they are my babies.
Does ANYONE have any suggestions? My husband is serious about sending Thickett away. The very thought brings me to tears. HELP!
