My parents & I will be away for 11 days. Our lovely 1-year old cat is the only cat in the house and she is very attached to us. She often seeks our attention and we play with her everyday. This will be the first time that we are travelling since we got her. We are in a real major dilemma as to what we should do with her - should we send her for boarding with SPCA? or should we leave her in the house and have someone feed and change her litter everyday? Unfortunately, we have not been able to find anyone to come to the house to play with her. She is not allowed to wonder out of the house compound. We have fenced up the back garden and she gets to play out there for a couple of hours. We however do not trust anyone to let her out into the compound when we are not around as she does occasionally try to escape. Thus, if we were to keep her in the house, she will be locked up inside the house....all alone...but at least it will be familiar surroundings. At the SPCA, she would be stuck in a smallish cage and will not be allowed to run around. Also afraid that she may catch some viruses at the SPCA. But there is a caretaker at the SPCA that is there 6 days a week until 4pm each day.
Any suggestions? Which is worse - unfamiliar surroundings (i.e. SPCA) or being all lone at home?
