We found "Smokey" in a motel parking lot off the highway in North Carolina. He was about 4 months old, unusually friendly, invited himself into our hotel room and fell asleep purring beside me on the bed. He made a 13 hour trip back to NY in a car, in my arms and was quite laid back about the whole deal. He is very shiny black with gold eyes, fetches, loves water and is extremely social. My queston is, at 5 months old, I noticed when he was sleeping in bright sunlight that there is a faint sable undertone to his fine black coat. I have had many cats in the past but because of his unusual behavior I have been researching on line and think he may actually be a Bombay cat! What are the differences between a Bombay and a regular black American shorthair?
Thank you to anyone who answers!
