:So, Natural Choice and Sensible Choice get two thumbs up. No complaints at all. Innova costs more and has all human-grade ingredients (fit for human consumption, unlike the "meat by-product meal" crap you find in the grocery store). Great if you want to spoil your animals! Three thumbs up!
I don't really consider it spoiling your kitties since premium foods make them healthier. I'll admit that I was not a very good Kitty Mommy these last few months because I'd fed them Innova and Nutro cat food for a couple of years, then just gave up on it when the kids got the dog and the dog constantly ate the catfood. So I more or less gave up the fight with keeping the dog out of the catfood and started buying them the cheapest stuff I could find - Meow Mix. Then recently my male cat, Simba, started straining while urinating and had blood in his urine. So now he's going to the vet and so far it's cost me about $300 and he has to go back in two weeks to be checked again. The vet asked what kind of food he's been eating and I told him "Meow Mix" and he said to get them all off of it because it's junk food and much too high in ash and magnesium. Now Simba is on Science Diet c/d-s prescription and the other cats are all on premium foods once again.
So I feel that instead of spoiling the cats with premium foods, they'll be healthier and happier with less visits to the vet so hopefully I'll be saving money in the long run. I've decided to just feed the cats twice a day instead of free feeding them, and therefore they'll eat all of their food at the two settings with no left overs for the dog.
