Kasey was brought home at 8wks old. She is a maine coon. She will be 9wks old tomorrow and I am at a loss here. I have had cats my whole life, and maybe I never had one this young, or she is just 'unique'.
All she does is sleep. Playing is a rarity. When she uses her litterbox, she tends to mess herself up and I have to clean her off asap, or it will stick to her legs and rear. She basically messes herself up while trying to cover it. I love her so much, which is why I am worried. Is it normal for an 8wk old to be 'so young' and need to be 'mothered' so much? If so, what age do they generally become a 'kitten', frisky and playful, basically not needing their mommy (me) 24/7? I feel sorry for her. I feel she is just void of any life right now and I just want her to start enjoying herself. She has an older sister (different litter, same daddy) who is 18wks old and her sis is playful and independent. It is nice to see her (Kellie) enjoying herself, whereas Kasey just sits there....existing. She has checked out healthy at the vet.
