No one ever believes this but I promise you it's the truth: Getting another kitten might help work out some of that extreme kitten energy and get his play-stalking directed away from you.

I would not flick him in the nose...having your hand moving that near his face is only offering him another chance to mess up.

If anyone has been, never, never, never let anyone play with him using their hands in any way. Get toys that don't involve your hands working near him...that's too confusing for a worked up kitten. Those long feather toys are fun, or my favorite is a laser pointer for him to chase. He needs to play a lot to work some of that energy off.

There's not much that will deter an energetic, bored kitten from attacking something that moves suddenly and has a reaction to what he does, which is why another young kitten would be marvelous, keeping him busy.

If he tries to bite while you're petting him tell him "no" firmly or make a sharp noise that you will use each time and either remove yourself or him from the situation. Put him up or get up and walk off. Be consistent, if you let him bite you sometimes with no correction (like telling him no and then ignoring) he won't learn manners. Do not, swat or otherwise have physical contact with him, it only gets him worked up more.

Again, another kitten of a similar age would the easiest thing for you to do.

:We got a kitten a couple of weeks ago. He's a domestic short hair, about 10 weeks. We rescued him from a shelter so his life before us is unknown. He's a sweet little guy, loves to be held and petted. One problem though....he's a biter, and he bites HARD, and usually breaks the skin. He seems to only do it when he's in play mode, but if you are sitting there watching TV or whatever, and you move your hard, he will bite. Also if I pick him up to remove him from something that he should be doing, he bites too. Someone told me to flick him in the nose, but doing that just makes it worse. He gets mad, with his ears back, and attacks harder. The water bottle hasnt worked either. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
