Please do not apologize for an excellent post!! Digit amputation (declawing) is a most horrific and cruel act upon cats. If we don't speak up, who will? Certainly not cats. I think it's despicable how these vets don't tell people that declawing is actually 10 separate painful amputations of the last digit of each toe. Instead many of them offer a "spay/neuter/declaw package." Makes me sick. Thanks to the internet, more and more people are being educated about this terrible procedure and hopefully one day it will be abolished.
