Well, Bentley, my 9 year old abyssinian will try almost anything. Veggies, meat, spicey or not... he is pickier about eating cat food than people food. Normally, if he behaves, I will give him a small taste of what I had - after I have finished. However, he's been known to go in the kitchen and try to help himself to hot brownies or casseroles on the stove top. In my experience... a small amount of almost anything is ok as a once in a while treat. Tablescrapes or foods like onions or chocolate shouldn't be cat treats or cat food. No cat treat like Purrfections or Pounce or human food should comprise a large percentage of the cat's regular diet. A well balanced cat diet (whether a commercial food or a natural diet) needs to contain the proper nutrients that a cat must have for healthy living. Most cats need a high-protein diet with a moderate amount of fats and certain vitamins and amino acids such as taurine.
