:My cat is licking himself bald on his stomach and hind legs we tried alergy shots and the first one worked but not the second,The vet put him on APO-amitriptyline 10mg.It is suppose to relay him so he will not be stressed but it totally knocked him out so we are trying half a pill a day.Poor little guy he is our baby could this be a food alergy or do you think it is stress he is an indoor boy.He is on Science diet for hair ball control and they do get can twice a day only small amounts.Thanks
It might just be food allergies rather than stress, although both can cause excessive over-grooming. Ask your vet about special foods for allergic cats. There is a Science Diet formula for that, also there are companies that make cat food with lamb and rice. PH Madame Alto >^..^<
