:I have had a cat and a dog, the cat about 5-6 months old, and a dog, about 4 years old, that have always gotten along. They love eachother and play all the time! Well, I rescued an abandoned kitten, about 6-7 weeks old. She does NOT like my dog...at all! When they are all inside, it is constant havoc! Is there any suggestions to making her comfortable around dogs, especially when the dog longs to love her?!? Any advice would be great!

If you decide to restrain your dog be careful that you don't do it too strongly.
When restrained dogs interpret this as the "other thing" being undesirable or a danger to your family. Thus the protective instincts are magnified and the dog can view this kitten as a threat that needs to be dealt with. I hope you wll post this problem on one of the dog forums also so as to get even more advice from both dog people and cat people who have dealt with similar problems. There seldom is just one solution and esp. with different species involved. Best wishes!
