:The spaying seems to have brought about this problem - usually things correct themselves after a vet visit but it appears that you have a major issue on your hands.

:Right now, separate the two cats and very gradually over the course of several weeks re-introduce them. If you go to the Introducing New Pets message board under Feline Behavior, you'll get more than enough tips as to how to do this.

:If the gradual re-introduction doesn't work, then Thickt might benefit from some kind of anti-anxiety medication prescribed by your vet. Thickt may be "blaming" the new kitten for the trauma of the spay. As she calms down she will stop associating this and unlearn the aggressive behavior. Gradually then the medication can be withdrawn.

:Please do not spank or otherwise physically harm or threaten an aggressive cat. It only makes things worse.

Hi Madame, This is not good....my husband is "The Punisher" and paddles or squirts Thickett with water when she attacks. I will tell him to stop and that you told me it is not good. I know he will listen.

I will check out the message boards as you suggest. Ron also wants me to get a muzzle for Thickett...is this a bad idea? She has started to bite Honey and this is not good.

Punishment does not seem to make things worse...Thickett will hang her head when she knows we are angry and do some major "sucking-up", but does not seem to retaliate....could be a rouse I suppose.

I checked out your other suggestions on the behavior board, thank you! Please know I am a good mommy and will do what it takes to keep my happy home. We have had both girls for 8 months, so I can't imagine Thickett blaming Honey at this point, but I am not an expert.

Thanks again ~
=^..^=
