:Hello, I need some suggestions for my kitties. We are moving form Colorado to Montana and we are traveling my car. I only have one carrier right now but can buy another if need be. Should I have them in seperate carriers or would it be best to put them in the one ( they will fit)? The trip will take about 14 hours and I really need some suggestions so that they are stressed as little as possible. Be sure the cats have collars and ID and be very careful not to let them escape! Also be sure the carriers are secured safely with seatbelts. Good luck!
You should definitely get a separate carrier for each cat. The stress of traveling could cause them to become aggressive with each other. They will probably need to use the litterbox, although they may refuse to do so if you put one in the car and let the cats out (one at a time) to use it! I just kept a couple of towels handy when I traveled with my cat - he had a couple of accidents in the carrier (refused the litterbox!) and I just changed the towels.
