It's actually very common, unfortunately. My female went into heat at 4 mos also. Then she started having heats every 10-14 days. Trying to get her set up to be spayed was a nightmare because I never knew when she would be going into/coming out of heat. I ended up just scheduling her and brought her in on that day. Naturally, she was in heat. Suffice it to say, I feel your pain. :(
