a friend that i work with has a big country house and she rents a room out to boarders. she's very intelligent and screens them carefully; however, her last boarder ended up being very odd and moved out a week ago. my friend's cat disappeared at the same time. she believes it may be possible that the woman might have hurt the cat or the cat might have climbed into a moving box. the only way she is able to get in touch with the former boarder is via a voicemail box or a "mailboxes etc." type postal box. she has contacted her via both and has not received any return communication. she has also contacted the police, who told her that without proof, they can do nothing. i'm looking for any ideas or experience that anyone may have to share as to how it may be best to proceed. i'm trying to find some way to help her; she is obviously very upset. i know that i would be losing my mind. thx.
