:My forteen year old has been taking medication for her hyperthroidism now for about three months. After she had been taking it for about a month, I noticed that her (all black) coat was beginning to get a red tinge to it, like around her inner legs (both front and back). She is going back to the vets for another T4 level test in a couple of weeks, and I plan on asking her vet about it,, but thought I would check here, too. Other than that, she seems to be normal, it's just a little odd to see her jet black hair turning reddish...

I'm no expert,Joshua is my first kitty. Joshua is a black cat. His fur loos rusty in bright light. I read in Cat Fancy that an ezyme in cat saliva can cause a black cat to look "rusty". I think they said it's most common on kittens being overgroomed. This is the only thing I can think of. Asking the vet sounds like a good idea. Maybe smeone with experience has better advice?
