:Having the clippers close at hand is a good idea. So far she is still acting uneasy with me just touching the her paws. But with time I will introduce the clippers with treats. Great idea. I'm thinking this is gonna take some time but we have plenty of that. Dr Fosters would probably be my last resort but nice to know of the options.

None of my two kitties like the idea (and they are not declawed!), but the only thing I can tell you is try harder and good luck. Maybe if you ask someone to help you it will be easier (unfortunately in my case I live alone, so I have to chase them and grab them and hold them by myself). The towel thing kind of works as long as it's a big towel and you wrap them like a burrito (put the towel on a surface, put the cat on top, put two corners around the neck, then fold it over the cat and put the other corners around the neck in opposite way...hope you understand my crappy explanations). It works for me for a couple of minutes, but they get more upset.
Another thing is just try one or two nails at a time, while they are sleeping or just woke up.
