My 2 yr old male black cat (Black Kitty) has been generally healthy. He was the one of 6 cats who ate slowly...and with grace. Suddenly one day about 2 weeks ago he began to devour, ravenously, endless bowls of food. Now this prob alone might be easy to diagnose but the strange part is that he acts as if he's been poisoned or has some sort of toxin in his system.
We have usually fed him kitten chow or meow mix. The only food change that has happened has been the recent purchase of the very lg bag of meow mix. The other cats seem fine. These symptons have occurred in 2 different homes.

These symptoms (listed below) have been occuring for over a week and they come and go. Last-night it almost seemed like he was dying and this morning it's as if nothing at all was even wrong with him. Now tonite his eyes are starting to glaze over and it's starting again. The obvious suggestion is to take him to the vet but I already have taken him when this happened last year for 2 days. It was a wa$ted trip because wen we got to the vets' and he was placed up on the exam table ........he snapped out of it totally and made us look like over-reactive parents.
If anyone here might be familiar with these symptons......PLEEZ help us
(KB,RB, and Black Kitty)

Here are his symptons.
1)mild drooling, won't let us touch his mouth, but did anyway and his tongue and gums seem to be
very light light pink. almost whitish.
2)daze/ blank-stare, eyes glazed over and dilated
3)great appetite and drinks plenty of water.....actually a large amount at a time (even if fed while he is in this stupor)
4)occassionally runs and plays outside as if nothing is wrong
5)goes to take a nap when in normal condition but when woken up...
he stares into space and takes a few minutes to understand where he is and what's going on. he looks like he is really stoned or something. Normally he just wakes up in an instant.
6)reacts to sound slowly (snapping fingers nxt to right...then the left ear> more reactive on the left)
7)noticeable weight loss
8)i touch his nose for body temp and it seems to be high some times
