:I have an 8 year old dilute calico that developed calcium oxalate stones. The stones were surgically removed and she was placed on Hill's c/d-oxl to maintain bladder health. I want to change her food because I think Hill's is poor quality. I tried a homemade raw food and that was rejected. And she refuses to eat canned food of any kind. What in particular should I feed her to keep her urinary pH high and how can I increase the moisture in her diet, short of forcing water down her throat?
I don't know what your raw food diet consisted of, but simply giving raw meat and bone is usually accepted. If the cat is fussy, try several different kinds of meat. If the cat still won't eat it, try cooking the meat. They will often eat it then.
