Natural remedies for ear mites

Hi there,
Daisy was diagnosed with ear mites when I first took her to the vet. She was put on revolution AND a topical oily medication
(directly on her ears).
While Revolution was effective (she doesn't scratch as much anymore) the other medication stung her (her poor ears were soo red, and she would hide under the bed for the rest of the day because of the pain) so I discontinued after a few uses. I do not believe she has earmites anymore, but she still seems to have a lot of earwax (maybe a secondary infection?). I use regular cat ear cleaner with aloe right now.
The vet said it was ok to just let her recover on her own without antibiotics. He said the dirt would eventually clear up. While she has improved A LOT(especially with good food)I would like to know of anything I can put on her to help clean up her ears? (I am hoping for some kind of esencial oil or infusion with mild antibiotic properties...) Thanks much in advance.
