Does your kitten really need a bath? Most cats keep themselves clean instinctively. If she has gotten into some unusual sort of dirt or something else that is dangerous for her to lick, then she does need a bath. Also sometimes bathing cats helps keep their dander down which helps allergic humans tolerate them better. Before you bathe her though, decide if she REALLY needs it.

Although there is no perfect way to insure that a kitten won't scratch you when she is bathed. But I'm putting up a link to a webpage that explains the best way to wash a cat. Please don't let her get chilled!
