: Hi,
: I just posted about my cat being pregnant and well, yes, she had her babies.Would it be harmful to them or her if i HAD to pick them up a couple of times?the reason being is that my family had been argueing where would be the better place where she should stay.thanks again.bye.

No, it won't be harmful to pick up the kittens as long as mother cat lets you. Cats are usually better about this than dogs. If you do move the kittens, be prepared! Mother cat may decide that they should be someplace else and could move them to a spot she chooses, regardless of where your family thinks she ought to be! She will put them where SHE feels they are the safest. Personally, if she's comfortable where she is, I'd leave her be, especially for the first couple of weeks. Often they like a nice, dark sheltered spot like a closet. Just be sure to leave the door open a little so mother cat can get out when she needs to. But she won't leave for more than a few minutes. When I was a child (a very long time ago!
like in the 1950's!) bringing milk, water and food in to the mother cat at first. And providing a litter box near by. Of course I used to spend alot of time in the closet with the little family, too-
but that's just me- although I'd probably do the same thing now! Post back and let me know how you're making out. Enjoy!
