: Sorry I'm posting so much but there are so many things i need to know about kittens and cats. What should i feed them when they are weened off their mothers' milk?
That's how you learn! And you are to be commended for doing your best to learn about how to take care of your cat & kittens! You can use kitten food (dry) moistened and mushed up. You can also use canned food mushed with a little water. I have also used meat baby foods. If you put a dish of food near where the kittens are (when mother cat is not around!) they will usually go for it on their own- with a bit of growling even. This is not a difficult things to do as long as the kittens are old enough - about 4 weeks usually.
They probably won't be interested before then and there is no reason to rush it. The older they are the faster they'll make the switch. However, they will drink mother's milk as long as she lets them.
Next question --- what if mother cat gets angry and swipes at kittens if they do try to nurse?
Let's save that for next time, OK? Keep up the good work, Jessica!
