The most important thing right now other than your concern about his immediate urinary problems is his diet. I don't think that Spike's special diet will necessarily harm your other cats, however Spike does need to stay out of your other cats' regular food. Hopefully you are set up to do that.

Please watch your kitty very carefully. You obviously know what the signs of a blockage are - if he seems to show ANY discomfort, especially licking at his genitals, get him into an emergency vet ASAP.

If your regular vet does not seem to give your good answers, or if you are not happy with the care, please seek out another vet - perhaps one who specializes in cats. You are paying big money for your cat's care and you deserve answers to your questions and consideration!
