Five years ago my first kitty kid went missing for 15 1/2 days. I, like you, went to my local Humane Society shelter and adopted another kit, hoping she would mend some part of my breaking heart. She didn't. Nobody could take the place of my alpha kitty, Lady Jane. Lo and behold, after15 1/2 days, early nightfall, here she comes on the porch looking none the worse for wear. I figured she was trapped somewhere for all that time because she, like your Cocoa, was afraid of people and cars and dogs. Don't give up hope, miracles DO happen.
