My neice's grandmother is Japanese. She makes a lot of sushi -- the veggie kind. I like both veggie and fish. I don't think I could handle quivering fish filets on my plate, tho. LOL.
I love tempura. I attended a 6-month school in Georgia a few years ago and one of the students in our class made specialty Japanese dishes his mother and grandmother taught him. He made the best chicken wings I have ever had. All I remember is that he submerged them in ice water (lots of ice cubes) before he breaded them and fried them. I can't remember if it was tempura or another batter/breading. They were divine. I can't explain why the were so good just that they were so very crispy and perfect.
