Badger was found half buried in a field at around 3 wks of age. I believe her mama (only a young kit herself with her 1st litter) thought there was something wrong with this kitten and didn't know what else to do with her. Fortunately Badger had a great set of lungs and I heard her crying. It was touch and go for several days as she was dehydrated and very weak, but this little gal was a fighter. Tough as a little Badger, which is how she came by the name. Badger isn't the smartest kit and her eyesight and coordination isn't the best. We consider her a "special needs" kit and so do the rest of our cats (16). They are very gentle with her and allow her several privilages, which they don't with each other. While she was growing up all of them would watch over her and take turns grooming her. She is our super special girl.
