I would check with your vet about feeding the other cat the special diet. As mentioned before, if he is having signs of renal failure - or if he tests out with early renal failure then the food will help. I am not sure it is good for cats who are healthy however, since I think it may be lacking in some nutrients. Your vet would probably be able to advise you with a telephone visit.
