i recently took on an abandonned cat which has a catolog of problems. She was dumped on me by these very bad ppl, who orignally got her as toy for their 4year old hyperactive devil child.
Firstly, Rease (her name) is half the normal size of an adult cat, she is one year and 3 months old but looks like a 4-5 month old kitten, the vet informed me that she will never grow any bigger :( Secondly her behaviour is that of a kitten! She runs around the house chasing my other cat..who really enjoys this for the first hour, but by mid-day get annoyed at rease and grows and hisses a bit...but Rease doesnt seem to understand that this is a signal to back off! And will continue to chase. I thought that maybe this running around like a loony was a response to being in a new home..but its been a month now and still she hasnt stopped chasing.
3rdly, she cant be held for more than 10 seconds before she starts to freak out..freak out meaning suddenly clawing anywhich way possible to get out of my hands, up on to my shoulder where she suddenly flings herself on to anything..anything being tv's, tables, but mostly the floor.
Fourly, Rease is very dumb. runs into doors, beds anything in her way, over and over again. When we play she will run round in circles chasing a toy about 8 times till she gets dizzy, has a sit down, then does exactly the same thing again.
lastly, she apparently has an allergy to fleas....but i have treated her with spot on, bandaged the wounds up (all round her neck where she licked it till it bled)cleaned it with special stuff from the vet...until it was almost fully heald (just some tiny scabs left), so i removed the bandge thinking that everything would be fine now, but half an hour later i found her in the corner with blood on her neck where she had licked of a scab and was pulling at her fur just like before when she had fleas! if it isnt fleas what on earth is it that is causing her to do this? I've put the bandage back on and this time going to wait till it is completely heald before removing it, just to see.
Can anybody help me? sometimes i look at rease and think that maybe there is something mentally wrong with her, as she wasnt looked after properly at the most important time of her life.
