Is this strange or normal behavior?

I don't know if this is strange behavior, but my now 10 mo old kitten doesn't seem to like the top of her body stroked. She purrs and purrs and loves it if you pet her head but after a stroke or two of the body, her tail starts swooshing like she is annoyed. She also likes her belly rubbed, just not her back. And if you go to pet her body while she is standing she will slink down away from your hand. I am just wondering if this is unusual or is her back unusually sensitive?
