Wheezing sounds?

I have a 15 year ol'cat named Calvin. She just recently starting making this strange wheezing sound. Then it's followed by a "snort"? It's kind of funny but I am worried. She's eating and drinking good. Her nose is moist and her eyes are clear. We're having very cold weather here in the NE so I was wondering if this could be a contribution to her behavior. I thought maybe a humidfyer would help if the air is too dry in my house. I will certainly take her to the vet if this persist in the next several days. Has anyone else experience this with their cat?
