I posted this in the general section also:
I have a boy domestic cat. He is fixed and about 3 - 4 years old. I have been noticing that he is wagging his tail a lot. When he’s laying on the floor relaxing… he’s wagging…. When he’s sitting on my lap... he’s wagging… when he’s watching the birds out the window… he’s wagging. He has had no food changes or anything abnormal happen for several months.
My question is… Is it normal? My mom was freaking because she thinks cats only wag there tail when they are irritated or something is wrong.
This is no little twitch of the tip of the tail, or anything this is like a DOG Wagging... when he sits on my lap his tail will hit my knee then hit my back... his range is huge.
I wouldn't say this is not something he’s always done. I just noticed it after my mother pointed it out. I have seen him do it a lot the last few days of watching him. He seems happy. Maybe a bit cooped up cuz he’s indoor only with his sister. But other than that he’s been getting regular feedings and all seems normal.
