:In the Doctors Foster and Smith cat catalog they show the site for Sub Q vaccinations to be done inbetween a cats shoulderblades. If a cat has a reaction to it and gets VAS at the injection site it becomes inoperable.

:They have now changed the injection sites on their website but the old catalogs still show the shoulderblade as it injection site. All new catalogs will show the new sites.

It is true that vaccination protocol has changed. The shots are now given in the legs - right side for rabies, left side for leukemia. My vet put the vaccine with the multiple letters (I never can remember what they are) into the cat's front leg.

Just a note - as you might notice Drs. Foster Smith don't see rabies vaccine. This is because the rabies vaccine must be given by a vet and recorded as such to be legal.
